Complete Care

All of the physicians at Osteopathic Manipulative & Alternative Medicine, LLC (OMAM) are complete physicians. This means that they are fully trained and licensed to deal with all aspects of medical care. They also have advanced training through residency and fellowship programs. D.O.s and M.D.s are the only two types of complete physicians in the United States.

• D.O.s are one of the fastest-growing segments of health care providers. Between 1989 and 1994, D.O. growth outpaced M.D. growth by almost two times, exceeding most projections. By 2020, over 80,000 osteopathic physicians will be practicing in the United States.


• More than 64% of all D.O.s practice in the primary care areas of family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, and pedatrics.


• D.O.s represent 6% of the total physician population in the United States and make up 8% of all military physicians.
