Thomas W. Vavrek, D.O.

Thomas W. VavrekDr. Vavrek joined OMAM in 2008. His practice focuses on osteopathic evaluation and treatment of patients with acute and chronic conditions.

Dr. Vavrek completed his training at Midwestern University, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Phoenix. He also completed a 1st Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Michigan State University and a 2nd Residency in Neuromuscular Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (NMM/OMM) at Botsford Hospital in Michigan. Dr. Vavrek worked as a Clinical Instructor at MSU's College of Osteopathic Medicine, and as Chief Resident at MSU's Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.

Dr. Vavrek has Level II full accreditation through the Colorado Division of Workers' Compensation. Dr. Vavrek is Board eligible in both Neuromuscular Medicine and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and will become Board Certified in the Fall, 2008. He will focus his practice to Neuromuscular Medicine within the OMAM practice.

Dr. Vavrek enjoys spending time with his family and doing activities such as golf, tennis, racquet ball and bowling.

Dr. Vavrek has received several awards and honors, including Phi Kappa Phi and Golden Key National Honor Societies, and has served as a medical volunteer for several years. His research includes utilization of alternative therapies within RIC's pediatric population, the U.S. Organ Transplant Games, and investigation of neuroendocrine development.
